Port Coquitlam Judo Club

Winter 2014 has been a busy session for us with lots going on.

B.C. Winter Games

Sam and Serena won gold in their divisions, Kolya won bronze, and Nikki had a win and two losses. Zone 3 won bronze in the team competition. Well done everyone!

Steveston Senior Tournament

In the Steveston Senior tournament, Kurt got second place, honourable mention to Zied, in the Shiai. John and Rick placed 2nd in Katame No Kata, honourable mention to Chris and Tom who placed fourth. Tom and John placed first in Nage No Kata, and Kristi and Kurt placed second.

Pub Night Fundraiser

Our winter pub night fundraiser was a big success. Thanks to everyone who supported the night. Special thanks go out to Nikki’s family who won the 50/50 draw and promptly donated their winnings back to the club.

It came special ordered from Japan. Mr. Blanchard presented Mr. Speight with his Red and White belt for his Rokudan promotion. Congratulations Sensei!
